Live: Unchanged Socceroos brace for Brazil backlash in Brisbane

Socceroos v Brazil LIVE updates: Australia get another shot against Brazil in Brisbane
That’s it for the first half in Suncorp Stadium and what a full half it was. A VAR review ruled in favour of Australia to award their equaliser after Brazil’s goal in the opening minutes before a later VAR review awarded Brazil an equaliser of their own. All is square heading into the break.
The big, bad Harry Souttar has stopped Brazil from equalising for now and concedes a corner. In the aftermath Vini Jnr gets a shot on goal but it’s blocked again and Souttar clips the feet of Danilo Santos inside the box.
There are protests immediately and a VAR check to match. With a minute left of the half, Brazil are awarded a penalty kick. Raphinha will take it. He shoots with his left past Beach into the bottom-right corner and Brazil have equalised.

LIVE: Socceroos ‘have to be better’ as Brazil seek savage response to draw ‘disgrace’
Tony Popovic and the Socceroos have again stunned Brazil in a wild five minutes in their second friendly at Suncorp Stadium.Live updates below!
The tourists looked set for a rough evening when Brazil struck through Vanderson after a slick build-up in less than three minutes – the fastest the Socceroos have conceded under Popovic.
But remarkably, the team wouldn’t just equalise, but take the lead in a crazy sequence of play.
First, Ale Circati dextrously flicked in a perfect cross from Connor Metcalfe, with an initial call of offside overruled by the VAR.
Then, it was Metcalfe himself who sealed a 2-1 scoreline with a stunning left-footed goal from beyond the box, a strike reminiscent of his heroics in the World Cup against Turkiye.
