3 things to watch in Celtics-76ers Game 3

The Celtics and 76ers seem set to add to their playoff lore as the series moves to Philadelphia for the next two games.

Tyrese Maxey finishes with 29 points and nine assists in a Game 2 win for the Sixers.

The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers have a rich postseason history and, for decades, stood as one of the league’s original rivalries. It was one with epic performances and finishes, especially in the 1980s, when their playoff series often sent the eventual NBA champion to the NBA Finals.

Fast forward to today, and there’s a scent of a rivalry brewing again, if only because their first-round series is tied at one game each and suspense has entered the building.

From Tyrese Maxey to Justin Edwards – and maybe Joel Embiid – adjustments to watch for in Sixers-Celtics Game 3

A few days ago, Sixers fans had awful tastes in their mouths. After a wire-to-wire demolition at the hands of the Boston Celtics on Sunday afternoon, the Sixers looked completely outclassed by their rivals. For more than 48 hours, they were ruthlessly mocked around these parts. Sans Joel Embiid, the Sixers looked hopeless.

Yet heading into Thursday's Game 3 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, there is considerable intrigue. Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe took over in Boston in Game 2 on Tuesday night, evening up the series and restoring interest. Embiid, 15 days after his emergency appendectomy, is shockingly listed as doubtful, indicating he could return far earlier than anticipated.

3 things to watch in Timberwolves-Nuggets Game 3

Denver's defense, Nikola Jokić’s slow starts and the health of both teams are crucial as the Nuggets and Wolves meet for Game 3.

Anthony Edwards leads Minnesota to a hard-fought victory over Denver in Game 2, evening the first-round series at 1-1.

So now it’s 15-15. That’s the W-L breakdown over the past four seasons + postseasons in head-to-head meetings between Denver and Minnesota.

But if we had our druthers, that would be the current record of the longest first-round mega-series in NBA history, a best-of-41 affair promising us lots more of what we’ve already seen from the Nuggets and Wolves since Saturday.

3 things to watch in Celtics-76ers Game 2

A star turn for Tyrese Maxey, continued recovery for Jayson Tatum & Joel Embiid's availability are key for Celtics-Sixers Game 2.

Jayson Tatum is rounding into shape right in time for the Celtics to make a deep playoff run.

The Philadelphia 76ers will need a powerful Game 2 response to invite suspense in their first-round series with the Boston Celtics.

They don’t necessarily need to win Tuesday (7 ET, Peacock/NBC Sports), but simply make it a four-quarter game and the last few minutes meaningful.

None of that happened in Game 1, won breezily by Boston, and now the Sixers have logic against them along with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. And logic might be more powerful because it plants a seed of doubt.

    Celtics 123-91 76ers (20 Apr, 2026) Game Recap

BOSTON — — Jayson Tatum had 25 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in his first playoff game since rupturing his right Achilles tendon last season, and the Boston Celtics rolled past the Philadelphia 76ers 123-91 in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first-round series on Sunday.

Jaylen Brown scored 26 points and Neemias Queta added 13 for the second-seeded Celtics.

Tatum scored 21 points in the first half, playing in just his 17th game this season following surgery last May to repair his Achilles tendon.

“I’m still rehabbing,” Tatum said. “I still attack rehab every single day except for when we have off days. … Still trying to ramp up.”

Nathan Buckley butts heads with AFL great over Harley Reid as Eagles urged to move for rival

AFL great Jack Riewoldt says Lachie Neale would be the perfect mentor for West Coast young gun Harley Reid after he was tagged out of the contest in the big loss to the Swans. But Nathan Buckley reckons Reid already has enough senior players to mentor him at the Eagles, and suggested criticism around the 20-year-old was a little unfair.

A relentless tag from Sydney's James Jordon blunted Reid's effectiveness in the 128-point thumping by the Swans in Round 4. And West Coast coach Andrew McQualter conceded afterwards that his young superstar didn't have enough support from teammates as he was effectively taken out of the contest in their biggest ever defeat at Optus Stadium.

McQualter says teammates need to help frustrated Eagle, Cox backs Charlie

West Coach coach says Harley Reid needs others to shake off a tag after being well held by Sydney's James Jordon

WEST Coast did not do enough to help star midfielder Harley Reid break his tag against Sydney on Saturday night, with coach Andrew McQualter calling on his players to boost their efforts to support the star playmaker this season.

Reid copped his first heavy tag of the season in a humbling 128-point loss to the Swans at Optus Stadium, with disciplined stopper James Jordon restricting the No.1 pick to 17 disposals, one clearance and one mark.

There was little support for the 20-year-old, whose frustration was evident at times, with McQualter warning the Eagles will need to do more to ensure their best player can shine under continued opposition scrutiny this season.

Empty floors at Atlassian HQ a sign of things gone awry

Whether folly or far-sighted, Atlassian’s decision five years ago to build a 40-storey headquarters in the heart of Sydney is being tested by an artificial intelligence revolution wreaking havoc on the software sector.

The Nasdaq-listed software firm has taken a lease over almost the entirety of the $1.45 billion tower’s office space, grouped into habitats of four levels each. A hostel takes up five floors at the bottom. But in the midst of a round of job cuts, Atlassian is looking to sub-lease more than a third of its space.

Losses growing, staff cut: Atlassian’s billionaire boss faces his AI test

Add articles to your saved list and come back to them anytime.

Billionaire Atlassian chief executive Mike Cannon-Brookes has staked the future of his company on AI, slashing 1600 jobs via email in a move to position the software giant for the wave of disruption tearing through Australia’s white-collar workforce.

A sombre Cannon-Brookes issued a video message to staff 20 minutes before the company axed 10 per cent of staff globally, including 480 roles in Australia, on Thursday, prompting major questions for Atlassian and fear in the wider economy already dealing with rising inflation and surging oil prices.

Afterpay’s parent company Block this month slashed more than 4000 jobs in the name of artificial intelligence, joining the likes of Australian logistics software company WiseTech, Amazon, Pinterest and Crowdstrike.

‘Devastating blow’: Atlassian lays off 1,600 workers ahead of AI push

Layoffs to affect 10% of workforce amid Australian company’s restructuring plan to push into artificial intelligence and enterprise sales

Software giant Atlassian has announced it is laying off about 10% of its workforce, or roughly 1,600 positions, and replacing its chief technology officer as it restructures to invest further in artificial intelligence.

More than 900 affected positions were involved in software research and development, a spokesperson said. Most of Atlassian’s employees work in software engineering and design, accounting for over 50% of its 13,813 full-time workforce in June 2025.

About 640 affected employees are in North America, 480 in Australia and 250 in India, with the remainder spread across Japan, the Philippines, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to the spokesperson.

Swiatek is great at many things — baking isn't one of them

Iga Swiatek is a master of many things, but baking is not one of them. The six-time Grand Slam champion explained her failed baking attempt after her 6-2, 6-0 win over Karolina Muchova in Indian Wells.

Iga Swiatek is known to be one of the most well-rounded players on the WTA Tour Driven by Mercedes-Benz, with a wide range of interests off the court. (Earlier this week, for example, she professed her love for classic 90s' flicks The English Patient and Legends of the Fall.)

Actually, scratch that — it was of interest, until the six-time Grand Slam champion discovered it's one of the few things that doesn't come naturally to her.

Iga Swiatek vs. Elina Svitolina: Where to Watch, Preview and Prediction

“I’m gonna have to have a lot of discipline to just finish the point even a couple of times,” Iga says.

Svitolina may be the surprise of the season. She looks rejuvenated at 31, and comes into this match with an 18-3 record, a title in Brisbane, a final in Dubai, a semi at the Australian Open, two wins over Coco Gauff, and one over Mirra Andreeva. She started Indian Wells by gritting out a three-set win over slice machine Laura Siegemund, so you know she’s ready for anything.

Now, though, she’ll have to raise her game a level. Swiatek is 4-1 against Svitolina, and she’s playing in one of her favorite locations. She has won two titles on these courts, and she just dominated two strong opponents, Maria Sakkari and Karolina Muchova, back to back.

The end of Stranger Things at the start of this year left a Demogorgon-sized hole in our hearts. While we’re all collectively holding our breath for the upcoming animated spin-off, the fandom is still reeling from that ending. From latching onto some of the maddest fan theories I’ve ever seen involving secret government brainwashing subplots, to dissecting every frame of the series finale, one thing is clear. We’re all hungry for more Hawkins.

Well, I’ve got good news, Stranger Things fans! This brand-new Stranger Things adventure is set in the same timeline as the show, and will release 10 March 2026.

Stranger Things Returns Tomorrow With a Brand New Adventure

With Netflix’s flagship sci-fi series now in the rearview, Stranger Things fans have been left in that awkward in-between phase where spin-offs are coming, but not fast enough to scratch the Hawkins itch immediately. The good news is that the franchise is not staying quiet for long. There is a brand-new Stranger Things release arriving tomorrow, March 10.

Dark Horse's Stranger Things Volume 10: Tales from Hawkins 2 comes out tomorrow, March 10, and it takes the full four issue anthology miniseries into one, well-bound volume. The book is written by Derek Fridolfs, with artwork from Sunando C, Bradley Clayton, Mack Chater, and Vincenzo Riccardi. Multiple retailer and catalog listings confirm the creative team, with Fridolfs continuing as the central storytelling voice for this latest Hawkins anthology. It's more of a companion piece to the adventures from Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, but it seems the perfect treat for those who've been yearning for another hit of the Upside Down.

Stranger Things Returns With a New Story From Beloved Character — Volume 10 Reopens Hawkins

The end of stranger things at the start of this year left a Demogorgon-sized hole for many fans, but the gap narrows this spring: a new trade paperback edition collects an all-new quartet of stories set in Hawkins, due on 10 March 2026. The release promises fresh viewpoints on moments the show touched on and a closer look at scenes that shaped the series’ mythology.

Stranger Things Volume 10: Tales from Hawkins 2 is a trade paperback anthology that gathers a four-issue miniseries into one bound volume. The book is written by Derek Fridolfs, with illustrated contributions from Sunando C, Bradley Clayton, Mack Chater, and Vincenzo Riccardi. The collection includes issues #1–4 of the Tales from Hawkins 2 run and is expected to span roughly 96 pages. 3 things to watch for in Lakers-Suns on League Pass

Both the Lakers and Suns look to snap two-game losing streaks when they meet in Phoenix on Thursday night.

Phoenix Suns Royce O’Neale and Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James look to snap their teams’ two-game losing streaks.

The Los Angeles Lakers (34-23, 6th in Western Conference) go on the road for the first time since Feb. 3 when they visit the Phoenix Suns (33-26, 7th in West) on Thursday (9 ET). LA went 4-4 during their 8-game homestand, while the Suns are 3-7 over their last ten outings.

    1. Injuries, offensive struggles for Suns: The injury bug is flying freely in Phoenix and it wreaked havoc in The Valley post All-Star break. After just 9 minutes of play in the Suns’ first game back following the festivities, Devin Booker sustained a hip flexor that has kept him on the shelf since. Two nights later, Dillon Brooks, who’s averaging a career-high 20.9 ppg during his first season in purple and orange, broke his left hand and will be sidelined 4-6 weeks. In the same contest, Jordan Goodwin, an important contributor off the bench, suffered a calf injury that will keep him out of the lineup for 1-to-2 weeks before being reevaluated. All in all, those three players account for 54.5 of Phoenix’s 112.1 ppg. As a result, the Suns have scored less than 95 points in three of their last four games, posting an NBA-worst 91.3 ppg during that stretch. They’ll need guys like Grayson Allen (17.2 ppg), Collin Gillespie (13.4 ppg) and Jalen Green (13.3 ppg) to step up in a big way, and a matchup against the Lakers’ 24th-ranked defense (116.6 DEFRTG) could be just what this team needs to get back on the right track.

Lakers Hit With More Bad News After Ayton Rant

The Los Angeles Lakers absorbed more bad news following a crushing one-point loss as they try to steady themselves in a tightening Western Conference race.

Japanese forward Rui Hachimura has been downgraded to out with an illness on the NBA’s official injury report, leaving the Los Angeles Lakers shorthanded ahead of a pivotal road matchup against the Phoenix Suns.

The absence comes on the heels of a heartbreaking 110–109 loss to the Orlando Magic, a game that further exposed the Lakers’ thin margin for error as they jockey for playoff positioning.

At 34–23, Los Angeles sits sixth in the Western Conference, with Phoenix trailing by just two games in the tightly packed play-in picture. With fewer than 25 games remaining, every result carries postseason weight — particularly for a team still searching for lineup consistency under JJ Redick, now in his second season on the bench.

Rui Hachimura Injury: Ruled out with illness

Hachimura won't play in Thursday's game against the Suns due to an illness, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com.

Hachimura can be tentatively labeled as questionable for Saturday's clash with the Warriors. With the 28-year-old forward sidelined, the door is open for each of Jake LaRavia, Luke Kennard and Marcus Smart to seize a more sizable role Thursday.
