"It's a different approach, a different team. Uruguay has very good strikers, a lot of experience. They are very compact, very good. It's going to be very, very difficult, again. We are a team that knows that every game will be on the edge, we have to be at our best to beat them. But I am confident enough to know that we can win this match."

Ghana Addo Confident in Young Black Stars Squad Ahead of Next Challenge

Black Stars coach Otto Addo spoke with a mix of pride and cautious optimism about his team’s prospects. He highlighted the wealth of young, hungry talent at his disposal and the competitive edge they bring. “We have a lot of young, hungry players on board. We have a team that, on bad days, we can struggle, but on good days, we can beat everyone,” Addo said.

Reflecting on the team’s performance at the last World Cup, he pointed to their near-upset of Portugal and their victory over South Korea as evidence of the squad’s potential. “We showed at the last World Cup, at least also that we were close to beating Portugal, we beat South Korea, so I think we have a competitive team and we’re looking forward also to make the next step,” he added.
