‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 35 Week 5 Live Recap: Dances, Scores and Elimination
Before Season 35 began this autumn, Dancing With the Stars unveiled all of its planned theme nights—except for this week’s. After some teasing, the program officially announced the secret theme was “Super Bowl Night,” with all the stars *tackling* tunes by artists who’ve made memorable moments at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The episode will also feature Season 35’s first guest judge, as ESPN announcer Joe Buck joins the panel alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.
Don’t have time to see which stars make it to the proverbial endzone for a victory dance? Worry not, teammates! We’ve got you covered with our full live recap so you don’t miss any of the action—but first, let’s get you all caught up on what you might’ve missed last week.
Touchdown! ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Throws Its Own Halftime Show for Super Bowl Night: See the Scores, Who Went Home
[This story contains spoilers for episode six of Dancing With the Stars season 35.]
The Super Bowl was celebrated early this season on Dancing With the Stars!
For DWTS‘ first-ever Super Bowl Night, couples performed to musical numbers from past halftime performances. J Balvin, Shakira, Nelly, Bad Bunny, Usher, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and the Black Eyed Peas were among the former Super Bowl performers who the contestants paid homage to.
At the end of Super Bowl Night, Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson were eliminated from DWTS season 35.
After his elimination, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! star said, “I had a lot of fun, it was great. Witney, thank you for teaching me how to dance!” Earlier in the night, Guillermo and Witney danced a salsa to Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó,” falling to the bottom of the leaderboard with a 22/40.

Dancing With the Stars Eliminates Fan-Favorite Celebrity
The line of scrimmage keeps moving on Dancing With the Stars.
And while each of the celebrity-pro duos has improved from week to week, not every group was able to achieve another first down at the end of the Super Bowl-themed episode Oct. 13.
This week, it was Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson who marked the end of their journey in the ballroom.
While the beloved pair's salsa to "Tití Me Preguntó" by Bad Bunny was a total touchdown, it ultimately proved not enough to land them at the top of the leaderboard, instead ending the evening in last place with 22 points.
