    However, Darcy had limited exposure in the Coates Talent League this season, mainly due to a back injury which kept him to five games, though his similarities to older brother Sam Darcy were clear, despite being 12 centimetres shorter than the prized unicorn talent.

    Only our current tech hellscape could create a comedy so insidiously inoffensive. Prepare to be pummelled into submission as your time is siphoned off by OK entertainment

    This is a cosy, lighthearted whodunnit about a retired professor who gets a second wind as a private eye. It’s also a bingo card for just about everything that makes streamer-era TV so patronising, uninspiring and mind-numbingly dull.

    On the surface, A Man on the Inside’s crimes might seem negligible: it’s a little schmaltzy, a little too pleased with itself in that wisecrack-stuffed American comedy way. Yet it’s exactly that inoffensiveness that makes this strain of television so insidious. When the New York Times critic James Poniewozik coined the term “mid TV” to describe the current “profusion of well-cast, sleekly produced competence” that has come to dominate our screens, it wasn’t so much a vicious takedown as a shrug at the blah-ness of it all. The tech giants have pummelled us into submission by siphoning off our time via OK entertainment.

    Ted Danson on falling 'madly' in love with his Netflix costar, curbing divorce rumors

    LOS ANGELES − Ted Danson’s wannabe private eye Charles Nieuwendyk breaks a professional golden rule in Season 2 of Netflix’s “A Man on the Inside” (streaming Nov. 20) by dating the main suspect in his new case.

    But it’s hard to blame Charles for the criminal misstep, because Wheeler College professor Mona Margadoff − who just might be the blackmailer at the heart of the academia mystery − is played by Mary Steenburgen, Danson’s wife of 30 years. Two-time Emmy winner Danson, 77, didn’t have to dig deep for the love vibes.

    "Charles is smitten, and I was too," Danson tells USA TODAY. "It's so much fun to play falling in love with someone you're madly in love with. You just sink into each other, which is lovely."

    ‘Warm hug’ sitcoms to binge after Netflix's Man on the Inside

    Netflix's top-rated comedy A Man on the Inside has returned for a second season today (November 20), with Ted Danson reprising his role as loveable retiree-turned-detective, Charles Nieuwendyk.

    While season one saw Charles go undercover to investigate theft at a nursing home, the second series will see him pose as a college professor in order to attempt to crack a blackmail case. A cast of new faces join the Mike Schur-created series this time around, including New Girl's Max Greenfield and award-winning actress, Mary Steenburgen.

    Netflix's synopsis teases: "Eager to take on another big undercover case, Charles gets his chance when a mysterious blackmailer targets Wheeler College president Jack Berenger (Max Greenfield), who enlists Charles to go undercover as a professor.

    AC/DC’s Melbourne Show Registered Seismic Activity On Nearby Earthquake Detectors

    AC/DC’s opening night of their Power Up Tour at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday (November 12) was so electrifying that earthquake equipment two miles away detected ground vibrations equivalent to low-frequency seismic waves. “The sound waves that people were experiencing nearby and feeling something through their bodies, that’s the equivalent to what our seismographs feel,” said Adam Pascale, chief scientist at the Seismology Research Centre, who clarified, “We’re picking up the ground motion, we’re not picking up the sound from the air.” According to the Centre, the ground movement was caused by both powerful speakers on the floor of the venue and the energetic crowd jumping up and down. While AC/DC made their presence felt in their return home to Australia for the first time in a decade, it wasn’t as intense as Taylor Swift’s recent Eras Tour shows at the same venue, which generated the largest signals ever received by the Centre for a concert.     The emails between Katherine Keating and Epstein were contained in a tranche of thousands of emails from the Epstein estate released publicly on Thursday by the US House Oversight Committee. The brief exchange reveals for the first time the pair were in direct contact in late 2011.

    Keating’s known contact with Epstein was brief, according to the files. In one exchange on 28 October, 2011, Keating sent Epstein an email with a link to a story in The Australian newspaper that carried the subject line “Keating Interview”. Epstein asked: “Are you here [sic]”.

    Ivan Milat's archnemesis – policeman Clive Small, credited with catching the backpacker killer – dies aged 79

    Clive Small, the detective credited with catching serial killer Ivan Milat, has died in a Sydney aged care facility after a long illness. He was 79. 

    Small took command of Task Force Air after the bodies of seven backpackers were found in Belanglo State Forest, south-west of Sydney, between September 1992 and November 1993.

    Victorian couple Deborah Everist and James Gibson, disappeared in December 1989, followed by German woman Simone Schmidl, 21, who was last seen in January 1991.

    German couple Gabor Neugebauer, 21, and Anja Habschied, 20, went missing in December 1991, followed by British friends Caroline Clarke and Joanne Walters in April 1992. 

    Task Force Air was formed in October 1993 with more than 20 detectives and analysts to catch the serial killer responsible.
