If only 10 had The Amazing Race Australia instead…

Network 10 is really feeling the impact of its decision not to proceed with The Amazing Race Australia.

What could have filled primetime slots about now is being propped up by Gogglebox and Dog House repeats. Last night the network could barely climb past 300,000.

The Block won at 1.05m then The 1% Club UK (896,000), 7:30 (724,000), Hard Quiz (548,000) and a Gogglebox rpt at just 237,000.

Dennis Cometti: Centimetre Perfect was 412,000 then Spicks & Specks (316,000), ACS: The Investigators (257,000 in select markets), Travel Guides (239,000 also in select cities), Small Town Scandal (209,000 / 130,000) and Boston Blue (171,000).

Seven News was #1 at 1.42m then Home & Away (976,000) and The Chase (646,000).

Save the Date: 10 / Paramount 2027 Upfront

10 / Paramount will be the last of the network Upfront presentations this year, to be held on Wednesday October 28.

This year’s event will take place at the MasterChef Kitchen at Melbourne Showgrounds, making it the only network to fly avertisers and media to Melbourne this year (Seven will also stage a secondary event in Melbourne after its Sydney curtain up).

Amongst the 2027 goodies to unveil are a debut 10 season of Australian Ninja Warrior plus Australian Survivor: Rivals.

10 need to improve three things, primetime, daytime in particular and their multichannels. There are way too many repeats across the schedule. What happened to their strategy of programming 50 weeks of content a year? Multichannels need massive work. The drama and comedy channels are basically are second tier repeat and encore channels. Daytime, no excuses. You can’t just have repeats/encores from breakfast to 4:30pm with limited fresh programming. At least consider another daytime advertorial infotainment program or pick up a couple of new syndicated programs from the U.S to add to the daytime news, ‘ET’, cooking programs and ‘B&B’. With primetime, a mixture of different formats would be good. I think we know though the upfronts will be more of the same with a couple of new things here and there..
