Australia names Beau Webster to play his first Ashes Test in place of Jhye Richardson, with captain Steve Smith saying another seam-friendly pitch forced them to go without a frontline spinner.

Steve Smith says that although he would have batted first given the chance, there is some hope for a bit of movement early.

"There's a little bit of moisture in it. So yeah, hopefully the new ball does a little bit," Smith says.
