Storm forward hospitalised after suspected stroke in 'medical episode'

Melbourne Storm forward Tui Kamikamica is currently in hospital and receiving treatment for a suspected stroke.

Kamikamica was rushed to hospital on Monday morning after a "medical episode", according to the Storm.

The club has asked for privacy and will provide updates on Kamikamica's recovery. The Storm face the Panthers on Friday night in their next match.

Melbourne Storm forward Tui Kamikamica has been hospitalised and is undergoing treatment for a suspected stroke.

Kamikamica played 25 minutes for the Storm in their 28-24 loss to the Cowboys on Saturday, and suffered what the club deemed a "medical episode" this morning.

Melbourne Storm can confirm that forward Tui Kamikamica is currently in hospital following a medical episode on Monday morning.

He has undergone treatment for a suspected stroke and is recovering in hospital.

Tui is receiving the best possible care and is being supported by hospital specialists, alongside the Club’s medical staff.

The Club asks that Tui’s privacy is respected at this time.

Melbourne Storm forward Tui Kamikamica hospitalised after suspected stroke

Melbourne forward Tui Kamikamica has been rushed to hospital following a suspected stroke on Monday morning.

"He has undergone treatment for a suspected stroke," a club statement read.

"Tui is receiving the best possible care and is being supported by hospital specialists, alongside the club's medical staff.

Kamikamica, 31, is a Fijian national who arrived at Melbourne in 2017 and played two NRL games that year.

He's amassed 142 appearances for the Storm since then, but missed the 2020 grand final when they beat Penrith to win the title.
